Join RMAG on the Texas Eagle from Fort Worth to San Antonio for the AAPG Annual Convention! Geology talks, networking, and a relaxing trip through the beautiful Texas springtime are all included. We'll have a whole train car to ourselves again, so it will be a great time to connect with fellow geologists. This is a one-way trip, so don't forget to book your airfare from San Antonio back home for after the conference.

Event Schedule

  • Train departs at 2:10pm from the Intermodal Transportation Center in Fort Worth, Texas
  • Train arrives at 9:55pm in Amtrak station in San Antonio, Texas

  • $75 per passenger

Baggage - 2 carry on bags less than 50lbs will be permitted. 

Food - The train has a café (bar) car and a dining car for food a beverage. Passengers can bring their own food on the train as well, however, no outside alcohol is permitted. 

Transportation - Passengers are responsible for their own transportation to the Fort Worth train station and upon arriving in San Antonio.

Getting from Dallas/Fort Worth airport: TEXRail departs directly from DFW Terminal B.  A single ride is $2.50. TEXRail train 231 departs DFW at 11:55 am and arrives at the Fort Worth Amtrak Station at 12:43 pm. The Amtrak Texas Eagle (GeoTrain) is due in at 1:25 pm and departs at 2:10 pm. Other options are Uber/Lift or the Super Shuttle.

Getting from San Antonio train station to Riverwalk/Convention Center area hotels: The train station is about a half mile from the Riverwalk, about a 10 minute walk. Uber/Lift are also options.

Note - This is a one-way ticket. Passengers will be responsible for planning travel back to their home destination after AAPG ACE.

Refunds for the Geo Train Trip are only available until May 4, 2019

Refunds for all RMAG technical and social events, except luncheons, are only available up to two weeks before the event date. If you are unable to attend, your registration for all RMAG events are transferable. RMAG members may transfer their registration to another RMAG member, and non-members can transfer their registrations to whomever they wish. Should an RMAG member wish to transfer their registration to a non-member, the non-member would need to pay the balance between the member and non-member price.

Day-of-event registrations are non-transferable, and non-refundable.
