McKENNA FAMILY CONTRIBUTES SCHOLARSHIP TO RMAG FOUNDATION

Elizabeth McKenna and her family have contributed $30,000 to the RMAG Foundation to establish the Philip J. McKenna Scholarship Fund for a senior geology major at Colorado College in Colorado Springs. The RMAG Foundation has contributed matching funds of $10,000, bringing the total to $40,000.

The initial grant will be made in 2008, and the amount of the award is to be determined.

The Philip J. McKenna Scholarship Fund establishes funding specifically for senior geology students at Colorado College. The RMAG Foundation is pleased to recognize this new precedent and will continue to seek contributions to support geoscience students throughout the Rocky Mountain region.

Regarding the gift, Elizabeth McKenna said: “Phil treasured his years at Colorado College studying geology and also his thirty-year involvement with RMAG. It seems appropriate that we, as a family, should combine these two interests by creating a scholarship for a senior geology major at Colorado College from the RMAG Foundation in Phil’s memory.”
