Dudley and Marion Bolyard Graduate Student Award Application - PDF document
The Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists Foundation will again this year grant an award to a graduate student at The University of Colorado, Boulder. The award's purpose is to support geologic studies in the Rocky Mountains and to reward excellence in geologic achievement. Although the Foundation has given the award for many years, it was underwritten last year through a generous contribution by Dudley and Marion Bolyard, long-time supporters of the department.
The following criteria will be used to select one recipient from CU:
- Relevance of the student’s research to Rocky Mountain geology
- Academic achievements
- Economic need
- Faculty recommendations
Applications for the RMAG Foundation Graduate Student Award must include:
- A résumé, with GPA and GRE information
- A thesis proposal (two pages or less) with financial support and needs listed
- Recommendation letters from appropriate Faculty
Applications must be submitted to the Department Head, who will forward them to the Foundation. The Trustees of the Foundation will make the final selection.
Application deadline is April.
The recipient, with one other person selected by the recipient, will be guests of the Foundation at a Friday Luncheon meeting of the Rocky Mountain Association of Geologists in late April or early May. A short presentation will be made to the recipient during the meeting.
